Socio-Political Subversion
This excerpt is taken from a report on an International Association of Scientologists event on the Freewinds in 2002, titled "WHEN WE WIN, EVERYONE WINS."

Mike Rinder's briefing shows how Scientology penetrates society by scamming public and religious figures and by using their Suppressive Person technology to remove anyone who opposes their totalitarian goals.

VICTORIES AGAINST SUPPRESSION-PLANETWIDE

As we celebrate the victories of the IAS," said Mr. Mike Rinder, "our impact and influence continue to grow, and we are reasserting the civilizing influence of religion in society. We follow the OT formula of cause: when confronted with suppression, we extend our reach and responsibility. Armed with LRH tech and backed by IAS support, we are eradicating suppressive influences and injecting the tech on many fronts."

RELIGION OF ALL RELIGIONS

"The best example of our continuing influence," he continued, "is in the field of religion. And I don't mean just ours. Rather, I am speaking of Scientology's responsibility on the fourth dynamic as the 'religion of all religions.'"

He pointed out that with certain world religions in crisis, we must take responsibility to get them on the rails for the good of the whole civilization.

"In May of this year," Mr. Rinder said, "we took the first decisive step, bringing together representatives of the world's major faiths at Saint Hill to define for them how churches can reclaim their moral leadership and why they must do so."

Two dozen different religious traditions were represented, from across Europe, America, and as far away as Myanmar and Sri Lanka.

Mr. Rinder told the story of how, over three days, we got them in communication and educated them on LRH solutions — so much so that at conference end, they all adopted a conference statement to take back to their churches and governments — based on LRH tech.

Further, illustrating the essence of the conference is this: a Pentecostal minister was overhead disseminating Dianetics ... to a Muslim!

RESTORING RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IN HOLLAND

"Our work in restoring religious freedom for our churches extends across Europe," Mr. Rinder said. Illustrating this point, he described a recent win in the Netherlands.

While Dutch law allows for tax deductions for donations to churches, the government disallowed these to members of some faiths, clearly a violation of human rights.

As he explained, we filed suit to force the government's hand. "And what was our evidence? The evidence that a three-judge panel reviewed? Our books, our materials — our beliefs and practices.

"And on January 25th, the court handed down a unanimous decision, granting full rights of tax exemption for donations to the Church and a total victory for Scientology in Holland!"

But this victory was far more encompassing because, as Mr. Rinder explained, the Netherlands is part of the European Union and the decision therefore influences all the member nations.

THE FRENCH DISCONNECTION

"Some need to be positively influenced on religious freedom issues more than others," Mr. Rinder said, "which brings us to our biggest focus of attention in Europe — France."

He noted that in France, if you aren't Catholic, you're a heretic; the country is notorious for religious intolerance.

Mr. Rinder described a catalog of actions we've taken to put pressure on the French government to change their ways, including a publication hatting French citizens on their human rights, complaints to the U.N. High Commissioner on Human Rights and the Council of Europe, briefings to the US government, and much more.

But, as he reminded the audience, those who attack religion have crimes. And so it is that, upon looking for corruption in the French government, we find the head of an "anti-sect" group in the office of the Prime Minister, one Alain Vivien.

First, an IAS-funded publication exposed Vivien, starting intense media interest across France. Then documents were uncovered showing that the country's two most active anti-religious   hate   groups   —   both   supposedly "private" groups — survived on millions of francs in government subsidies. The president of one of these groups happens to be Vivien's wife. And between she and Vivien, they received over 10 million francs in government funds — which he spent on things like all-expense paid trips to Haiti, Cypress and Greece, and an armor-plated limousine.

But, Mr. Rinder continued, there was something more ugly — a large chunk of this money goes to finance legal assaults against minority religions. In other words, the government front groups file cases pretending to be private "citizens groups."

It's a big sham, for SP's in the government use taxpayers' money to destroy freedoms, while pretending to be "neutral."

However, this didn't stay hidden, for all of it was exposed in a steady stream of French editions of Freedom magazine.

"And what are the results of all our exposes and the pressure we have brought to bear?" said Mr. Rinder. "Well, SPs are good at dishing it out, but they are, at heart, cowards. When the spotlight is turned in their direction, they run for cover.

"So here's the final update. That most prominent of French SPs, Alain Vivien, just held a press conference. But this one was different than his previous rantings. It was summed up in two words: 'I resign.'

"And to that we say, 'Bon Voyage!'"

OPPRESSIVE MOSCOW LAW OVERTURNED — PAVING THE WAY FOR UNLIMITED EXPANSION

The biggest victory of all was then announced — and it had to do with Scientology in Moscow. While this is the fastest expanding area on the planet, there was still one major barrier to overcome in order to achieve unlimited growth: an oppressive law which established special requirements for the registration of churches.

This law, as Mr. Rinder noted, was pushed through by the Russian Orthodox Church, and was rigged so that "virtually no religion, except the Russian Orthodox Church, could meet its requirements. Because, the only churches that qualified were ones who had 'registered' during the communist reign. Of course during that time, no religions were allowed to enter the country!

"Worse still," he continued, "the penalties for any church that had not registered during that communist reign was 'liquidation.'"

He spoke of how the Moscow Mission filed an application for registration after that law took effect — and tried eight times, each time being turned down.

So, we sued the government and won. The government failed to appeal on time; however, since this is Russia, the government obtained permission to appeal anyway. The red tape continued, and "in October of 2001, we faced the prospect of liquidation for having 'failed' to register," said Mr. Rinder.

"Of course," he continued, "we were not alone. According to the Russian Federal Ministry of Justice, as of last October, more than two thousand religious organizations had similarly 'failed' to register.

"Some went into apathy.

"We went into battle — on behalf of all of them."

He detailed how we briefed the US Congress, the State Department and Council of Europe — and how we brought 40 other religious leaders on board, then together "urged US President Bush to take the matter up directly — with Russian President Putin.

"All of it resulted in a flood of international pressure against Russia's 1997 religion law."

The pressure kept building, and it resulted in a landmark decision from the Constitutional Court.

"On April 30, the Moscow court handed down its decision and we set a new precedent.

"The court declared the government's suppressive order against the Moscow Mission totally illegal, canceled the threat of liquidation and opened this country for unlimited expansion!"

PLANETARY SALVATION

With IAS support, we are making our presence felt all across the planet as we take effective action to solve the ruins of society

It is absolutely no coincidence that greater numbers moving up The Bridge is paralleled by unprecedented steps forward in making our presence felt across all of society," said Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board RTC, introducing the International Association of Scientologists (IAS) Patrons Ball and an evening of 4th dynamic wins. "Look behind those 'dones' you have seen in previous years. Look close and you'll find some one. They didn't 'just happen.' Some one or ones had to decide to do something and then DID. That's OT.

"Our numbers may yet be small. But in combination with the IAS — and what it lets us bring to bear — we are creating a momentum that is rapidly becoming irresistible."

With that began an evening of major victories and accomplishments.
Scientology propaganda includes the idea that we have no civilization left in the world. Scientology is our planet's and mankind's only hope. (See also: Keeping Scientology Working .)

WINS IN THE LEGAL ARENA

The first speaker was Mr. Mike Rinder, who briefed passengers on legal and human rights accomplishments gained through Scientologists' support of the IAS. "Our mission of global salvage requires dedication and persistence on a given course," he said. "Our victories are not won overnight — but no matter how long it takes, we do always win. We use every channel and bring others on board to help us carry the torch for freedom."

Mr. Rinder then covered Germany, about which we have been educating US officials for over a decade on violations of human rights on German soil.

Among them is US Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of Florida. As chairperson of the International Operations and Human Rights Subcommittee, she held a congressional hearing into religious intolerance in Germany and France. After hearing testimony from Catherine Bell and Isaac Hayes, the Congresswoman wanted to know more about Scientology and traveled to Los Angeles, touring our churches and ABLE International and commending the church for "incredible service to the community, including the saving of lives through drug rehabilitation."

That's not all. She has now drafted a bill to be introduced into the United States Congress known as the "Trans-Atlantic Religious Protection Act." This will  penalize  European governments that discriminate against US-based institutions and companies and give real teeth to the United States' commitment to religious freedom across Europe.

In Germany itself, we had key breakthroughs, such as an important lawsuit won when the Federal Labor Court fully recognized our religious nature and ruled that Church staff "are seeking idealistic purposes and spiritual perfection through the teachings of Scientology." And with that, they threw out the lawsuit.

Then there was this, also from Germany. In a precedent-setting decision, the German Federal Tax Court in Cologne ruled in favor of SMI and I HELP, ordering the government to abide by their tax treaty obligations, recognizing both organizations as tax-exempt, retroactive to 1994. With that ruling, the German government started issuing exemption letters earlier this year.

But, as we pointed out to the German government, Church of Scientology International should also be exempt in Germany. That had real flap potential and they knew it. But, caught in a bad spot, they caved in, granted the exemption — and found themselves in the eye of a media hurricane all across Germany.

"And while they licked their wounds in defeat," Mr. Rinder said, "the Federal Republic of Germany has now paid us more than $275,000, with another $75,000 on its way. Now that's getting the flow going in the right direction from the German government!"

BEACHHEAD FOR EUROPEAN HUMAN RIGHTS

"The German capitulation is a clear signal of things to come," Mr. Rinder said, "but there are many other actions we are taking at the highest levels, to create an environment across the European continent where our orgs can set man free without distractions. As with so many of our victories, it all begins with education: not only about who we are, what we stand for and what we do, but about true human rights for everyone."

Continuing, he said that there is another point of major strategic importance on the fourth dynamic: establishing our lines into the heart of the world's most influential and powerful government center.

Today, the most powerful government in Europe is the European Union. It is headquartered in Brussels, a city sometimes called the "capital of Europe." For it is the home of the European Commission, Council of the European Union, more than 120 international governmental organizations and 1,200 non-government institutions, including UNICEF, NATO, the World Health Organization, and 167 embassies manned by 2,500 diplomats.

In other words, Brussels is where those who shape the future of Europe come together.

Last October, we announced the acquisition of our future base in Brussels to coordinate our human rights campaigns across the entire continent. This new facility is now ready to become the launch point to take our crusade for peace in Europe to a whole new level.

And so, on September 3rd, thanks to Scientologists' support of the IAS, we will celebrate the official grand opening of our new Church of Scientology European Human Rights Office in Brussels with leaders of Europe in attendance — and with it we will embark on a new era for freedom across the entire continent.
Scientology propagandizes and black PRs individuals and nations to forward their totalitarian goals.  The German government continues to keep Scientology under official observation because of the threat Scientology represents to their country's constitution.
NEW CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY EUROPEAN HUMAN RIGHTS OFFICE
Bringing a new era of freedom across all Europe

Brussels, Belgium — where those who shape the future of Europe come together. And so it is here we have established our new Church of Scientology European Human Rights Office, now completed and celebrating its grand opening in September.

From the front door and through every space of this office, a permanent "What Is Scientology?" exhibition is integrated into the design of the building with more than 300 feet of display panels containing 750 individual images.

Busy officials get "briefings" all day and every day. But when you show them something, it has far greater impact.

In the Human Rights Work Room, our many international accomplishments are displayed — from CCHR jailing criminal psychs to our human rights marathons across dozens of nations. And the hallways throughout the building are lined with proclamations and recognitions for Ron from cities, states and nations.

On the first floor displays present the basics of Dianetics and Scientology, and an overview of what Scientology is and what it does. Right off this area is the main conference room that will be used for meetings with officials and dignitaries. Its walls hold an extensive presentation on Ron's life and accomplishments.

On the second floor is the office of the European Human Rights Director, the coordination point for  our crusade for human rights that will spread out across Europe. Adjoining this office is the press briefing room, its walls covered with hundreds of proclamations awarded to the church.

Also on the second floor is the multi-media conference center which can be set up for seminars, video presentations, workshops, briefings or large conferences.

From this new headquarters, we will drive forward our human rights and public information campaigns across Europe.
Scientology's buildings house cookie-cutter propaganda stations.

A NEW BEGINNING FOR A DYING CIVILIZATION
Ms. Karen Hollander then spoke: "We are advancing against conditions in society with Ron's tech,   extending   our   influence   through   the [continued on page 43] growing network of drug rehabilitation centers, schools, prisons and countless other groups and organizations."

She covered our major inroads "at the top."

First she covered South Africa, where Freedom Medal Winner Greg Capazorio introduced the Criminon Program to the Johannesburg prison system, including the nation's largest facility — and previously the most violent: Leeuwkop Maximum Security Prison. Since the introduction of Ron's tech there, guards no longer carry weapons and prison yard violence has reduced to virtually nothing. In fact, the Federal Ministry of Correctional Services officials consider our Criminon representatives as their "major partner" in improving the system. But there's more. On March 14, 2003, the Director of Leeuwkop Maximum cut the ribbon at the new L. Ron Hubbard Library for Human Rights, a permanent facility at Leeuwkop for training correction officers in Ron's technology!

Also crucial to the well-being of this planet is the moral repair that follows from The Way to Happiness. In Venezuela, where political strikes, coups and civil unrest regularly disrupt lives, an IAS member teamed up with fellow Scientologists and got The Way to Happiness into over forty schools, formed nine Way to Happiness chapters from Maracaibo to Margarita Island, and distributed tens of thousands of booklets sponsored by companies and organizations throughout Venezuela. They ignited grass roots interest all the way to the highest levels of the country. One of the nation's most prominent business leaders took The Way to Happiness right to the floor of the Venezuela National Assembly, presenting each legislator his own copy. His message was carried nationally on television, and internationally on CNN to more than 25 million people.

"There is, however, a societal ruin that even undercuts drugs, crime and immorality," said Ms. Hollander. "Because in order to apply the technology to handle any of them, one must be able to comprehend. Which, of course, brings us to the subject of literacy and education. It's a field that has been so willfully and deliberately wrecked, illiteracy now affects billions."

Continuing, Ms. Hollander stated that in order to get Ron's study tech in, we go directly to the educators themselves, for they are, in the main, people who genuinely want to teach and want their students to acquire the tools for learning.

But to crack the education crisis worldwide, Ms. Hollander pointed out, "requires a stable base for the emanation of study technology on a global scale, a place where we can train those who go cuit and inject that tech into society at all levels. A base from which we can change the course of the culture and create a new and literate civilization on Earth."
Applied Scholastics International
Notice the cartoons to the left and right of the Applied Scholastics logo.
And that stable base is Applied Scholastics International Spanish Lake in St. Louis, Missouri.

It was first announced in October 2001 as the future home of Applied Scholastics International, the next "generation plant" in our planetary salvage crusade. It is now a reality, our base for the most extensive training and dissemination of Ron's study tech ever.

On the facing page are photographs and a short tour through the spectacular new facility.

It is from this new launch pad we will spearhead a planetary assault on illiteracy.

Thanks to Scientologists' support of the IAS, our Spanish Lake campus became an official reality with its Grand Opening in July!

Led by New OT VIII and Chief Executive Officer Bennetta Slaughter and a team of OTs, including ten currently auditing on New OT VII, Applied Scholastics International Spanish Lake is truly at the forefront of reversing the dwindling education spiral.

The Education Angle
Hubbard reveals his sentiments about going to university.
Now there are things that can be taught, but not the arts. You can teach ‘em engineering, you can teach ‘em something that has any process or procedure; you can get ‘em together and teach them government. You can teach law. You can do a lot of these things, but you can’t teach the arts.

And there’s where I get the index: How much better could they work? Well, they
could work better if they stayed true to their own pretense that they’re a university.

If one went to his own university and if it treated him like that, he would have the right to think and he’d have the right to have an opinion. And he’d have the right to make up his own mind. And he would be there so that information could be made available to him, so he could figure it out.

And this problem right here would have been licked hundreds and hundreds of years ago, if it hadn’t been for the scholastics and if it hadn’t have been for the modern university.

You owe ‘em a great debt – a debt of continued slavery – because they pretended they were responsible for this problem, and they never took responsibility for it.

So, you’ll get all sorts of kick-backs as you go outside of that propaganda. Understand, I’m not trying to destroy the American university as an institution. I think we’ve got to have football, and the more football we have the better.

Anyway, the whole idea here is to restore freedom of action, freedom of thought, freedom to believe, freedom to survive, freedom to know, freedom to be responsible, freedom to create motion, freedom to BE fate, not have to have it. Freedom to win… very interesting.

THOSE are freedoms.

Vancouver Sun: School unaware of link to Scientologists PDF Print E-mail
The Education Angle
by Janet Steffenhagen
Wednesday, June 11, 2008

A Vancouver principal said his school was uninformed when it invited a group affiliated with the Church of Scientology to speak to a student assembly last month about human rights.

John Bevacqua, of St. Patrick regional secondary school, said he hadn't been aware that Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI) is part of the Scientology movement until it was brought to his attention by a staff member shortly after the group finished its presentation.

"It was very unfortunate that they were not as forthcoming as they needed to be," he said of YHRI. "It was a lesson learned." The group was invited into the school on the recommendation of students who had heard representatives speak at a conference and were impressed with the message. The students gained the support of teacher sponsors, who vouched for the group and extended the invitation, Bevacqua said.

Asked if the school conducts background checks before inviting organizations to speak to students, the principal said "there's always a process we go through" and added that the sponsoring teachers had assured him the group was fine.

Susan Kerr, a Scientologist and Vancouver spokeswoman for YHRI, said the group was formed several years ago to educate young people about human rights, and its connection to the Church of Scientology is irrelevant.

"This has nothing to do with the church proselytizing," Kerr said in an interview."It's just about human rights." [...]
